Annual Prema Hair Awards 2017

Arming their team with an unbeatable culture of recognition and reward each year Prema Awards their top stylists, colourists and apprentices with a Logies style trophy to encourage further success as the authority in salon style.

Taking over the upstairs private room at The Local Taphouse Darlinghurst, more than 50 Prema staff from both Bondi and Surry Hills salons gathered under the dress to impress theme – the perfect opportunity for staff to go all out and celebrate individuality and achievement. Two salons, both with a vision of creativity, empowerment and a sense of pride to be part of their community, came together as one. A live feed from New York with owner Francesco Ruggerino added further value to a truly international hairdressing mindset and inspired staff to continue to drive their own personal growth.

On top of a long-list of awards, teary moments and team camaraderie, Heath Grimmond achieved the coveted Prema Lifetime achievement award while Prema Founder and CEO, Francesco Ruggerino congratulated his staff and gave further insight into his future vision for the growing Prema brand.

“Thanks for a great 2017. I have been away for three years building the new York business and you continue to build as a team and in leadership. Prema Sydney has never been in a better place,” Francesco said.

Encouragement and confidence have become two key elements of success for the Prema brand, and as Frank continues – both celebrating individuality at the same time as promoting unity are essential ingredients to a successful salon.

Johnny Ruggerino and Ashley Boughton presented each winning stylist and colourist with their award, as managers and mentors for the salon and all staff, it was a proud moment to congratulate both new and longstanding and dedicated Prema staff that go beyond their specific role.

Guests enjoyed drinks and food and an almost modern underbelly style dress-up theme. There was everything from suits to lace, 70s, 50s and a bit of punk thrown in – that’s Prema. Nobody knows how to do fancy dress like Prema – just check out their Instagram page every time a special event or occasion comes along.

“I am particularly pleased with the amount of apprentices we have matriculated this year through our Academy, it shows that our education is working,” Francesco said.

Ultimately as the night drew to a close and many continued to celebrate, Frank reminded all staff that, “It’s all about effort and consistency, this leads to progress and achievement, hence you are the Award winners – congratulations all of you.”
