The supremely talented team at Wildlife Hair are back with a collection that coolly fuses eras into one edgy editorial offering. Modern cuts, intricately layered fashion styling and bold beauty looks, right down to the black nail polish, create the sense of an all-women mob – the female Sopranos, back and trendier than ever.
Set in a warehouse aesthetic and displayed in black and white, the collection doesn’t play by any rules to convey its theme. Layered, mullet-style cuts sit next to edgy blunt cuts and contemporary short crops. Wild curls make their appearance and, in a hero look, subvert all textural ideals by sharing space with a slicked back crown before cascading down fairy floss-style.
The fashion similarly refuses to conform. Layered coats, knee-high boots, a multitude of retro and Wild West inspired accessories and an old-fashion LBD paired with a unique bolero all stand out. Keep an eye out too for the salon dog Alfie, making his appropriately accessorised appearance. In beauty, the eyebrows and eyes are kept big and bold – a strong statement that is consistent throughout the collection.
Whether old-school Bonnie and Clyde type bandits, mob leaders circa the seventies or modern, very stylish, fugitives, one thing is clear – these women are outlaws, you choose the era.
