Eight Australian hairdressers and salons have been named as Association of International Professional Hairdressing Press (AIPP) Awards finalists for 2020/2021.
Congratulations to Best Commercial Finalist Megan Panozzo, Best Avant Garde Finalists Kobi Bokshish, Tsiknaris Hair and Uros Mikic, Best Color Finalists Kristie Kesic, Paula Hibbard and Richie Grisillo, Best Men Finalist Joe Habbaki and Best Video Finalist Tskinaris Hair, earning a second nomination.
These talented Australians are nominated in the five categories with dozens of esteemed competitors from all around the world. The competition received 482 entries from 32 countries, and will be presenting the winners at the beginning of February 2021.
“Being nominated in such an internationally renowned competition and amongst some of the best hairdressers in the world, is so fantastic and a true recognition of the impact Australian hairdressing is having globally,” Megan said. “I was so proud to have this collection win the 2019 AHFAs SA/NT Hairdresser of the year award, but to now have it recognised internationally is amazing!”
The AIPP assembles 71 magazine editors from 35 countries as a judging panel to vote for these bold works of hair art, deciding finalists and the winners in the process. It focuses on the talent of hairdressing photography and presentation.
“I’m extremely proud of my Soignée collection and the team that worked on the shoot with me and to have it nominated in such a globally recognised awards platform is humbling,” Paula said of her nomination. “To step away from the work I usually do and create a colour collection that has been interpreted as inspiring by icons of the industry is just unbelievable!”
