Four up and coming stylists have started the journey of a lifetime, as the F.A.M.E. team 2015 experience kicked off with the first official meeting on May 3rd.
After being announced as the four esteemed team members at the AHFA on Sunday, March 29th, Alex Newman of Chumba Concept Salon, Jordan Hone of Sloans of Lane Cove, TONI&GUY’s Luke Harris and Maria Unali of s.81 Hair are in for the biggest year of their young careers.
The year will see the group mentored by Brett McKinnon, Co-Owner and Director of the Murphy Gozzard Hair Community. Sponsors were announced as evo, Cloud Nine, Excellent Edges and La Biosthetique.
Following their initial meeting, the team are now in the midst of a one week mentoring session with 2014 F.A.M.E team Creative Director Leesa Smith, Session Stylist Richard Kavanagh and iconic educator Sharon Blain. They will also have the opportunity to meet with sponsor representatives at an intimate soiree at District Salon, Surry Hills.
The year ahead is one to look forward to, with particular highlights including the GenNext Show at Hair Expo 2015 and a trip to London. This trip will see them present at Salon International 2015, meet with styling legend Angelo Seminara and partake in an Up Close and Personal seminar with Trevor Sorbie. The team will also take part in a photoshoot to be considered for Artistic Team of the Year at next year’s AHFA.
“Each member of the 2015 team have unique strengths but their greatest opportunity now is to unite and conquer their greatest journey yet as one team,” said Brett McKinnon. “The opportunities through F.A.M.E are rich and diverse and yet the most powerful part will be how they support and stretch one another as a totally organic group of four.”
Personally, we can’t wait to see what they come up with.
