Beauty site Beauticate has collated their opinion of the best salons nation-wide into a streamlined salon directory. Known more formally as the GO-TOs spa and salon directory, the list is touted as a sharply edited list of premium beauty destinations, aimed at Australian salon-goers.

The directory draws on recent stats via the website that say 75 per cent of women spend $400 a year on hair salon appointments and 65 per cent of women spend that amount at the beauty salon annually. Most women also said it was difficult to obtain information about favourable salons and 88 per cent would be more inclined to visit these salons with more information. This means any new information for the consumer is good news for salons.

“We’re all time-poor and keeping on top of your grooming game is a constant battle – especially during the party season. There’s a serious drought of reliable information out there and Googling only seems to confuse people with questionable sources,” said Sigourney Cantelo, Beauticate founder. “You know that when you read a review on the GO-TOs, it’s trustworthy, it’s credible and the treatment will be of a certain standard.”

The directory is accessible via a web and mobile search tool, where readers can search by the kind of beauty experience they are looking for, and can then contact the spa or salon, as well as book many of the services available, via the directory. The directory has currently listed and reviewed over 100 of Australia’s top beauty locations, with more to come.

“One of the most common questions I’ve been asked throughout my career is ‘What’s the best spa?’ or ‘Who does the best blowdry?’” Sigourney shared. “The party season sees more women than ever booking in for manis, colours, blowdries and spray tans – they want information and they want it now. With the GO-TOs, I wanted to create a sleek, editorial directory with stylish imagery, in-depth reviews and a sophisticated, simple design.”
