Beauty Expo 2020 has sadly been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with the next edition of the event to take place in its usual August slot – August 28 and 29 – in 2021, at the ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour.

“Beauty Expo Australia would like to express our ongoing concern for everyone impacted by Coronavirus. After closely monitoring the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and following the State and Federal Government directives, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 edition of Beauty Expo Australia,” said a statement from the Beauty Expo Australia team.

“We are in unprecedented times and continue to witness first-hand the challenging impact of COVID-19 on all industries, both professionally and personally. Prior to the recent escalation of COVID-19, we were optimistic that Beauty Expo Australia would run safely and successfully in October this year,” the statement continued.  “Our principle focus was on ensuring that the rescheduled dates were ideally positioned to support our community, however, in consultation with our customers and stakeholders, we have concluded that the best option is to refocus on maximising business opportunities for Australia’s professional beauty industry at Beauty Expo Australia in 2021.”

This is disappointing news for the professional beauty industry, coming amidst recent news that Beauty Expo’s sister event, Hair Expo, which is also organised by Reed Exhibitions, has been cancelled altogether. The team assures followers that it has kept safety and health a top priority in making this difficult decision, and looks forward to the industry congregating once again in 2021.

“While we are disappointed that we are unable to meet face-to-face in Sydney in 2020, we remain committed to keeping Australia’s vibrant professional beauty community connected over the coming months,” the team continued. “We would like to thank all of our exhibitors, visitors and partners for their encouragement and support during this challenging time.”

Beauty Expo Australia offers innovations in the sectors of professional skincare, cosmetics, nails, medi, wellness and spa, connecting the beauty community and inspiring with networking opportunities, live performances and education and the inimitable expo floor.

We look forward to getting our beauty fix next year.
