The Women of Spirit Awards is an event very close to the heart of Canberra’s Bond Hair Religion salon, and its Owner and Creative Director Jenni Tarrant in particular. The awards recognise remarkable women from the ACT region, and with Jenni having won the 2013 instalment, Bond Hair Religion will now act as their major sponsor.
“We are delighted to welcome Jenni and the team at Bond Hair Religion on board as the Major sponsor of the 2015 Women of Spirit Awards,” says Carrie-Ann Leeson, Lifeline Canberra CEO. “Jenni epitomises what these awards stand for and we look forward to working closely together to increase the awareness of this event.”
The awards highlight women who have overcome personal adversity to make a difference in their community and inspire positive change in society. A new award, the Rising Women of Spirit award, introduced last year, recognises women who have recently overcome these adversities to commence community work and make a change.
“We interact with people every day without ever knowing what they may be struggling with from the past or in the present. Some of the most successful and generous people I have met developed their strength through overcoming adversity,” said Jenni. “This award acknowledges courageous and community-minded women and brings their experiences into the wider populace to inspire others.”
The awards are hosted by Lifeline Canberra. Nominations close in July before the Awards Luncheon, to be held on September 2nd at the National Portray Gallery.
