Stars across the globe have been congregating in France for the past couple of weeks to celebrate the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. With so many films, a multitude of red carpets and a bevy of stars all there for the occasion, elegant glam hair is at its peak and some very interesting looks feature as well. Whether changing colour mid-festival, championing the short hair look of the moment or diversifying their style for every new event, these stars brought it.

With that, we bring you five noteworthy hair looks from the Cannes red carpet.

1. Lily Collins

Sporting a diverse style portfolio across the entire film festival, Lily Collins wore looks including aspirational straight hair, a faux-fringe, a high bun and a sleek, upstyle tied with gold thread. It’s hard to choose just one winner, but these 80s-esque, voluminous, Sandy-from-Grease level curls were a standout.

2. Salma Hayek

After wearing her usual brunette shade to the beginning of the festival proceedings, Salma Hayek showed up mid-way through the week with a new hue, somewhere between pink and rose gold. Whether a wig or a real change (probably the former but we dare to dream), we’re very much here for it.

3. Kristen Stewart

Kristen continues to rock short hair, with a particularly platinum tone at Cannes. Advocating short hair, as so many stars are within the current trends, Kristen and her peers are changing red carpet glamour to its edgier counterpart.

4. Cara Delevingne

Following Cara around her many global appearances is like watching the trajectory of a shaved head story. After showing up with her newly shaved head (done for a movie role) in a futuristic Met Gala look earlier this month, Cara is now sporting a short, grey buzz cut in order to dispel our notions of clichéd red carpet beauty.

5. Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid’s wavy lob at Cannes is notable for two reasons – one, it’s new, with the model only cutting her longer locks earlier this month and debuting the look at the Met Gala. Two, it’s emblematic of the bob and lob trend that took over the Cannes red carpet, with Marion Cottilard, Hailey Baldwin, Uma Thurman and others also opting for the cut of the season.
