Over 600 hairdressers of the Davines community were welcomed to the Hair On Stage event in Asia for the very first time. The occasion was held at Asiatique; The Riverfront, the beating heart of the Bangkok on the banks of the river Chao Phraya, writes Nouruloyun Borghol.
To kick-off the party all the guests gathered to celebrate Loy Krathong, “The Festival of Lights”, a charming celebration held during the full-moon night which fills the river and sky with lights.
What followed was a stage performance by the top names in hairstyling, starting with the pinnacle in Davines’ International Artistic Director Angelo Seminara. Angelo presented the latest Davines Collection, Rebel, with a mix of city and urban looks to enhance the modern women’s natural beauty.
Kim Robinson and KR+ then took to the stage with an impressive performance called “Jennifer”. Inspired by actress Jennifer Tse of Hong Kong, the collection emphasized femininity adding confidence and elegance.
Backstage King of New York fashion shows and one of Davines’ most valued and requested educators, Joseph DiMaggio brought onstage his editorial projects: turban, hair decorations and glitter were used to convey his idea of feminine beauty.
The Carlton Hair Creative Team was headed by 2013 Davines World Style Contest winner, Christilene Erasmus-Bush; showcasing the latest cutting-edge fashion in versatile hair trends that can be worn by every women.
Stylists of the Rikyu salon brought to the stage a perfect combination of Thai culture and Japanese aesthetics. The “Origami” theme was presented through the entire look keeping the costume monotone and built on simple lines to place emphasis on the hair colour.
