Session stylist Nick Irwin and content creators Andreas Stavrou and D&A Films are collaborating to bring IN-SESSION, a digital education and creative platform on social media, to life, writes Zoe Brown.
The platform seeks to take participants on a journey into the world of session styling, fashion and photography via a series of dynamic sessions unlike any other digital space.
“IN-SESSION gives stylists the opportunity to spend two hours with the best sessions stylists in the world. We founded IN-SESSION so stylists have access to this creative world to broaden horizons, fuel passions and push imaginations,” explained Andreas Stavrou.
Each session sees eminent session stylists from across the globe interviewed live at IN-SESSION’s London studio, where they discuss their career highs and lows, recreate their aesthetic and offer an insight into their signature styles and creative processes.
The first IN-SESSION event took place on June 8 at 1pm UK time. During this session, founder Nick Irwin gave an enlightening insight into his career history from salon hairdresser to renowned session stylist. He provided details on the concepts and campaigns he has worked on and offered a glimpse into his world of session styling.
Tickets for each session are approximately $100AUD. A ticket purchase will issue access to the event for 48 hours or, alternatively, there is a pay-per-view post-event option that will allow those unable to tune in during the live session to view it at their own leisure.
“IN-SESSION is a dream that I’ve had for a long time. My obsession with hair and the world I’m fortunate to work in has led us to creating this new digital platform,” Nick said. “We have some incredible session stylists lined up for future events and are privileged that they are letting us into their creative domain, divulging some of their session secrets, nuances, processes and aesthetics.”
With the first event receiving much engagement and traction, a plethora of success looks to be headed in IN-SESSION’s direction. An array of creative visions and knowledgeable minds will shape IN-SESSION’s future endeavours, thereby helping session stylists around the world meet their full potential, enhance their work and refine their artistry and skillset.
