Edwards and Co. Launch Education Initiative

You may know Edwards and Co. as the salon responsible for Lara Bingle’s tresses, or for the legendary industry salon parties they’ve hosted of late. Well, be prepared to keep hearing about this rapidly expanding salon, as the team now add education to their long list of talents.

The 2016 education agenda is based around sharing the salon’s philosophy, teaching other hairdressers to build a community of independent stylists and business owners. The program will range from how to create the salon’s signature looks to how operate a successful salon in the current business climate. The classes will have an intimate feel, built to inspire its students in a creative or business sense.

The program’s first class will be this Monday on February 15th, kicking off the agenda with an Edwards and Co. Signature Hair Look ‘n’ Learn. The program will then expand to business sessions and other creative seminars.

The impressive line-up of educators is headlined by Jaye Edwards, the salon’s Director and leading colourist, who thought up the Edwards and Co. ethos of housing independent freelancers all under one chic warehouse-style roof. With this experience, he will be an invaluable educator in both editorial and business sessions.

Byron Turnbull is next on the list, bringing his experience as a notable celebrity and editorial hairdresser, whose work has featured in Cleo, The Sydney Magazine and more. Next Lauren MacKellar will bring her decade of experience as a session stylist with a strong commitment to fashion and hair, with personal philosophies on colour, cutting and styling to share with her audience. Kirby Richards, who has worked at and managed salons in Australia and London, as well as working at London Fashion, on music videos, backstage for the BBC and heavily in the bridal industry, rounds out the line-up.
