Regional hairdressers around Australia are in luck. Entries for the 2015 Star Spot Opportunity will now close one week later, on the new date of Tuesday, April 21st at 5pm. This means if you haven’t entered yet, there’s still plenty of opportunity.
Competition organiser, Leanne Cutler of Hair Shots 2 The World said that the date was extended on request due to Easter and school holidays being within the competition period.
“Entries are rolling in but we want more!” Leanne said. “From the past years, we know that there are amazing hairdressers in regional Australia and in New Zealand who just don’t have as much access to education and hands on hairdressing experiences outside of the salon so this competition helps change that.”
Hairdressers from around Australia and New Zealand, who live at least 50 minutes outside of major CBDs are invited to enter in this burgeoning competition. The prizes vary depending on state, but each allows state winners to accompany esteemed stylists on photoshoots, fashion parades or events.
The NSW mentor is Kobi Bokshish, the South Australian mentor is Kristy Hodgson, for Victoria it is Lorna Evans and for Western Australia it is Simone Lee. Three Queensland winners will assist backstage at the Ekka Fashion Parades in August with celebrity stylist Carole Haddad. Entrants may nominate their preferred mentor regardless of their home state.
Entrants must email firstname.lastname@example.org with two phone photos of styles created in the salon, 30 words on why this opportunity will be valuable to the stylist and the name of the salon, address and contact details.
This experience could be yours for the taking – good luck!
