12 Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence (F.A.M.E.) Team finalists have been announced, with the talented stylists, all under the age of 30, representing the very best the future of the industry has to offer.
An esteemed judging panel including Australian Hairdressing CEO Sandy Chong, Session Stylist Richard Kavanagh and INSTYLE Editor Cameron Pine met at the La Biosthetique Academy to sort through the wealth of skilled entrants who had put themselves forwards. The result was 12 finalists who will be whittled down to the four F.A.M.E. Team members in a live model presentation and skills test on the 15th of February 2015. The winners will then be announced on the night of the Australian Hair Fashion Awards on March 29th.
The competition is fierce and we predict a few sleepless nights for the finalists in the days before the presentation. “You look at the eleven people next to you and know that it’s going to be so tough in the next round,” 2014 F.A.M.E Team Member Melvin Royce Lane shared. “I felt proud to be in the company of such talent, and achieving a place in the top twelve was an accomplishment in itself.”
With the objective to promote the next generation of industry talent on the international stage, we feel very optimistic about the F.A.M.E. Team’s current pool. Now all that’s left is to see who makes it through the next round.
May the best four win.
