Combining their passion for hair and charitable causes, Foil Me is seeking to raise funds and awareness for the vulnerable bee population by introducing The Bee Collection to their foil range, writes Zoe Brown.
The collection boasts a design of varying sized bees and beehives mounted upon a sky blue backdrop. In order to establish the perfect design, the Bee Collection remained in the design process for six weeks. The final intricate and meticulously crafted design was hand drawn by Foil Me’s co-owner and creative director Emily Ciardiello.
Foil Me is partnering with the Wheen Bee Foundation to bring The Bee Collection to life. The Wheen Bee Foundation is an Australian registered not-for-profit organisation promoting awareness of the importance of bees for food security, and funds research that addresses the national and global threat to bees. They engage with all levels of government, the apiculture industry, bee-reliant food industries, universities, research organisations and communities to ensure the strongest effort is being put forward to help conserve vulnerable bee species.
“I chose the Wheen Bee Foundation because they have a myriad of projects to ensure the survival of bees and a proven record of funding these projects to completion,” Emily said.
Showing their dedication to the cause, the team at Foil Me is donating $1 from the sale of every box in The Bee Collection to assist the Wheen Bee Foundation with the continuation of their projects and research.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Foil Me to strengthen support for bees in Australia. Bees pollinate around one in every three mouthfuls of food we eat. They are also keystone pollinators in the environment underpinning both biodiversity and ecosystem health. The support provided by Foil Me goes directly towards creating healthier bees and bee habitats in Australia,” said Fiona Chambers, Wheen Bee Foundation CEO.
“It baffles me that there isn’t more out there helping the little guys! Bees are pollinators and almost 90 per cent of plant species rely on pollinators to reproduce. If they can’t reproduce, we don’t survive,” Emily added.
The Bee Collection is available now at Foil Me and comes in three sizes of Original, Wide and Extra Wide.
By supporting The Bee Collection you can do what’s right for the environment and help save Australia’s bee population one foil highlight at a time.
