If we have it our way, salons Australian-wide will be a little more yellow this Friday, as the Cancer Council’s annual Daffodil Day takes place on August 25th. The event will see volunteers selling pins, bears, flowers and other merchandise to brighten up your day and raise vital funds for cancer research, aiming to help 1.1 million Australians who have been impacted by cancer.

The organisations next major platform is one that directly focuses on women, with Girls’ Night In taking place across September and October and dealing specifically with women’s cancers. Women are tasked with creating public or private events, both big and small, at any time during these months, which can accommodate your clientele or just be an intimate night with your best girlfriends. The aim is to spread the word and, of course, raise donations for these important causes – ideally, guests will donate the money they would have spent on going out to the Cancer Council instead.

The next few weeks pose a lot of opportunity to use your social and professional network to make the world (and your Friday) a little brighter – let’s all rally together to aid this amazing cause.
