After a one-year hiatus, Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW) is back at Sydney’s Carriageworks, and back in the polished, backstage hands of ghd and Redken as hair care and hair tools partners, respectively.
The week takes place from May 31 to June 4, seeing leading hair artists adorn, style and direct the hair looks and trends for the high fashion event.

We look forward to creating hair looks for Australia’s leading designers at the pinnacle event of the Australian Fashion calendar that will also inspire our dedicated consumers” said ghd Managing Director ANZ, Ludovic Dellazzeri.
ghd will create the look across six runways, including Romance Was Born’s opening night shows, Next Gen, Bassike, KITX, Manning Cartell and the Future of Fashion. Redken will cover the care for over a dozen shows. The two brands will often partner on these backstage endeavours.
With names like Natalie Anne, Rumbie Mutsiwa, Mary Alamine and Pauline McCabe in the room, it’s sure to be a dynamic time, with a range of hair and beauty brands lending their talents to the runway.
It’s a particularly important year for ghd, as they celebrate their 20th anniversary. To honour this milestone, the brand will be hosting a weeklong on-site consumer activation, which will act as an immersive, interactive experience at AAFW. They will also deliver an off-site appointment only Styling Suite, for front row ready hair.
