ghd has revealed their dynamic Christmas offering, with the Nocturne collection displaying opulence, romanticism, mystery and juxtaposition in the tools, as inspired by an ‘after dark’ aesthetic. The design boasts a deep purple, lilac, silver and black palette, as well as unique patterns.
The new aesthetic will be adapted to suit a range of tools, all delineated into eight separate gift sets, ideal for the giving season. Sets include the platinum styler, V gold styler, ghd air professional hairdryer, flight travel hairdryer, curve curl wand and soft curl tong tools and advanced split end therapy limited edition bauble. Additionally, heat resistant bags, mats, protective travel cases and complementary OPI nail polishes round out many of the sets.
Supporting this major launch for the brand, ghd is also taking today (October 3rd) to hold the first ever 12 hour styling event, situated at the Opera House. The event – set from 7am to 7pm – explores the concept of infinite styling, transforming the Opera House Northern Foyers in the venue of a ‘super shoot’ created in conjunction with INSTYLE. Hero shots will grace November December to celebrate the new tools and technology.
The shoot will host 10 inspiring hair artists behind the scenes, styling a myriad of top models on set. The event will also be linked to the UK, with live crosses with the ghd UK team, who will be partaking in a similar 12 hour styling event at the same time. In both events, the new ghd contour will be used as a hero tool.
“The fact that we will be aligning with our global team in the United Kingdom, to bring to life the idea that styling with ghd holds the secret to creating limitless hairstyles is an incredible once off event,” said ghd Australia & New Zealand Managing Director, Ludovic Dellazzeri.
The event will be led by Richard Kavanagh, ghd Australia & New Zealand Creative Director, who will reveal the final looks, while ghd Australia & New Zealand Ambassador, Jayne Wild was booked to begin the styling earlier during the day. Special guest ghd Artist, Uros Mikic represented the Aussie contingent at the UK event, bringing another element to the cross-continental collaboration.
“I am extremely proud to play a role in bringing to life this concept where possibilities of styling with ghd are limitless,” Richard said. “This super shoot is unique in its ‘no brief, brief’ because creative direction of a shoot is generally controlled with clearly defined guidelines. Our ghd Artists will be exploring infinite styling by creating beautiful looks every hour as they style, style, and style again.”
At the tail end of the 12 hour styling session and shoot, the final looks will be revealed to the media in an inspiring event set in the heart of the Sydney Opera House.
Editorial looks, styling trends and hair technology has never been bolder or more conceptual.
