Glass Hair Is The New All-Important Celebrity Hair Trend

It seems every month Hollywood’s A-list have a new trend to champion and August has been no different. Welcome Glass Hair, sorry that should be #glasshair, the A-list trend of the moment. It’s derived from Korean beauty trend Glass Skin, and takes this translucent vibe to hair.

The look itself, as first reported by Refinery29, is a blunt bob with intense gloss. That sharp angled cut paired with a shiny, reflective texture all has one thing in common – you guessed it, glass!

In case you were wondering how the aesthetic has gone so viral so rapidly, the pioneers are none other than Kim Kardashian, Jenna Dewan and Rihanna and it’s been published in international online publications include marie claire, Cosmopolitan, HelloGiggles, InStyle and more. Khloe Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, Jordan Dunn, Lucy Hale and other celebrities also rock their own variation of the trend and it’s been hashtagged on Instagram over 4000 times.

I've been getting a lot of questions about @kimkardashian super sharp bob so I thought I would answer some! The inspiration was 90s swishy glass hair. I wanted to create a really intense shine and for the hair. I cut the kims hair shorter than we’ve ever done before just underneath the jaw line, keeping the cut blunt with no angle. For me getting an intense shine was really important part of our look. On wet hair, I applied @ColorWowHair #DreamCoat then blow dried the hair using a large round bristle brush. Unlike the sleek styles we've done in the past we wanted the hair to have some volume, so I kicked the ends under for the cute 90s twist. I always finish off with a drop of #ColorWowHair Pop and Lock just to finish off the shine and lock in the style. Hope this answers all your Qs #chrisappletonhair @makeupbymario
