The Box Hill Institute Hairdressing team has welcomed a new acclaimed member to its ranks – Vic Piccolotto, a key member of the Pivot Point Production and Development team in Chicago. Vic was a graduate of Pivot Point Australia’s first-ever cutting program in Melbourne and has now spent 14 years in the development team in Chicago, as well as training in the institute’s Competency Based Training program. This renowned set of skills makes him the ideal new addition to the Box Hill Institute team.
“I like being back in the mix of teaching because I can see how Pivot Point resources work in the classroom and I really like the interaction with the students,” Vic said. “After working with the students, I keep getting ideas about how to improve delivery methods. These learners are digitally native, self-taught thinkers, are speedy online and simply, pick up information faster, so education has to be created to match the way that they operate.”
According to Box Hill Institute Executive Director of Educational Delivery, Jane Trewin, Vic has contributed to the many new training initiatives designed and developed for the institute’s 2021 education agenda, ensuring consistently modern and innovative education for these hairdressing students. One new initiative is the advent of a teacher training program covering online and digital teaching methods to help educators move into the realm of ultra modern hairdressing education.
Vic continues to work at Pivot Point Australia alongside the Box Hill Institute, adding to an extensive and comprehensive resume in salon work, education and development. Here’s to big things for Box Hill in 2021!
