Consider this your call to action.
Hair Expo 2018 is officially underway, by way of the awards entry process officially opening and taking your submissions. The long-standing awards ceremony honours the best Australia and New Zealand have to offer in creative talent and business acumen when it comes to the hairdressing sector – this is your chance to show your skills!
“We encourage all hair professionals looking to challenge themselves and boost their careers to enter the awards this year” said Elli Julia, Awards Manager. “These awards offer an opportunity like no other to have your work assessed by some of the most iconic figures in the international hair industry, and the benefits that can be gained from entering will do wonders for your personal and professional development.”
“We would also like to acknowledge the support our awards receive from the many leading brands in the industry that support their artists to enter the Hair Expo Awards and celebrate them at our awards gala each year, which is something we are very appreciative of.”
Starting in 2018, Julia Piantadosi will take on the roles of Head Judge and Awards Ambassador, while external business experts have also been newly added to the panel to judge written submissions. Local judges have been selected to peruse every entry, and the talented panel consists of Benni Toginini, Jayne Wild, Sharon Blain, Faye Murray, Caterina Di Biase, Sandy Chong, Joey Scandizzo, Sarah Laidlaw, Sara Allsop and Frank Apostolopoulos.
“I encourage every single salon business and hairstylist of all levels to take some time to enter these prestigious awards and showcase your talent and craft to the country,” Julie said. “Entering the Hair Expo Awards will push you and challenge you to be the very best you can. The only way to win is to enter. These awards are so exciting!”
Creative categories include country and state titles, awards for men’s hair, creative force, salon design, colour, apprentices and salon teams. Business categories consist of education accolades, business performance and salon business. The Hall of Fame also looms as one of the features of the evening.
The good news is that you have time – the entries close on April 4, 2018, with finalists to be announced in May.
Good luck, and get started.
