Sharon Blain and Cameron Pine at GenNext
Compered by the lovely Tabatha Coffey, the night was host to a list of exciting spectacles. It began with our own INSTYLE editor Cameron Pine and Sharon Blain announcing Valentin Stefanov as the winner of the Wizz Kids Competition. This was a collaboration between INSTYLE and Sharon Blain with the focus on young talent.
Sponsored by Aveda, the gala presented several exciting shows including Bach Hair, Sloans of Lane Cove, the L’Oreal ID Team, the Art of Hair, Stevie English, La Biosthetique Nouveaux Talent and the UK F.AM.E. Team.
Always on trend and highly creative, the Gen Next Project, mentored by Sharon Blain and sponsored by Excellent Edges, wowed the audience with a selection of very creative hand-made hair pieces that were rich in detail.
The highlight was a show-stopper finale by Antoinette Beenders titled “The Greatest Show on Mother Earth”. Circus themed, the show took on an environmental agenda, with recycled styling and a message of preserving water. Acrobats and lion cages adorned the show, while over 30 models paraded. The audience was treated to a braiding technique demonstrated by Antoinette where she revealed her secret to turning a braid into a finger weaved look.
