The L’Oréal Professional Products Division is once again proud to support Hairdressers Against AIDS, an education program developed by the L’Oréal Corporate Foundation and UNESCO.

Aimed at empowering salon professionals worldwide to use their unique relationships with their clients to discuss, educate and help prevent the spread of HIV, the cause hopes to become a powerful voice in preventing the spread of HIV and AIDS.

HIV and AIDS still exists in Australia today, and with the annual number of new HIV diagnoses averaging at approximately 1000 cases per year over the past five years, HIV is a disease that can affect anyone, with no known vaccine or cure. However, it is preventable.

Today, over 1.2 million hairdressers in salons around the world are breaking the silence and talking about HIV and AIDS with their clients and communities thanks to this potentially life-saving cause.

This year, L’Oréal Professional Products Division and Hairdressers Against AIDS want to help dispel myths and rumours and stop the spread of misinformation about HIV and AIDS by shining light on 20 common rumours about HIV and AIDS to ensure the facts are revealed.

Show your support in the lead up to World Aid’s Day on December 1st 2013 and Like and Share the Hairdressers Against AIDS Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/HairdressersAgainstAids). Take the Salon’s Rumours Quiz on the Hairdressers Against AIDS website (http://www.hairdressersagainstaids.com/en/) to test your knowledge and share your results on Facebook.
