A subscription model in the UK is revolutionising hair salon services – and becoming an intriguing model to look to all the way across the pond here in Australia. Famed salon chain HOB Salons has launched The Blow Dry Club, with subscription plans ranging from £150 per month (about $300 AUD).
The service offers clients the opportunity to “enjoy unlimited blow dries seven days a week”.
“Whether it’s before a big work meeting, a post-gym freshen up, or some midweek TLC, the expert stylists at award-winning HOB Salons are ready to make you feel fabulous. Perfect for busy professionals, mums looking for some me-time or if you’re tired of washing and drying your own hair,” the brand shared.

The subscription service allows members to choose their preferred salon location and subscription plan, then book through the salon or the HOB Salons app for each service.
The subscription models start with the Essential plan at £150 per month, which offers unlimited smooth blow dries and 10 per cent off full-price retail products and ghd styling tools, as available with graduate stylists and colourists, plus experienced stylists and colourists. The Premium plan is £200 per month for unlimited smooth blow dries, 20 per cent off full-price retail products and 15 per cent off ghd styling tools, with stylists of all levels, excluding salon directors and managers. Finally, the Ultimate plan, at £285 per month, offers unlimited smooth blow dries with all stylists, including salon directors and managers, as well as 20 per cent off full-price retail products and ghd styling tools. All plans have a three-month minimum.

Each plan can be upgraded at £190, £240 and £325 at each level for the Essential Plus, Premium Plus and Ultimate Plus, respectively. This upgrade gives access to smooth, bouncy, wavy or curly blow dries, as well as the option to pre-book appointments.
To celebrate, the HOB artistic team, with makeup by Joh Christopher and photography by Richard Miles, created a blow dry collection, inspiring both hairdressers and clients in this bold new venture.
