The Western Australia Branch of  the International Hairstylists Society (IHS) is conducting their State Hairdressing Awards to test Australia’s premium talent in a number of fields. The not-for-profit organisation prides itself on providing a platform for hairdressers at all levels to participate in industry events, and the State Hairdressing Awards is a prime example of this.

The Face of IHS 2014

The State Hairdressing Awards will be held on Sunday the 14th of September at the Italian Club in Perth. Entries from hairdressers in all states close on the 5th of September. The competition will start just past 11am in categories including Junior and Senior Men’s and Ladies Cutting, Open Bridal Total Look, Junior, Senior and Men’s Catwalk, Open Men’s and Ladies High Fashion Colour, Junior MTV Total Image and a Salon High Fashion Team Collection.

Total looks include makeup, clothing and accessories in the judges’ consideration. The event will also name the Individual Salon, Group Salon and Junior and Senior Stylist of the Year. Entrants are allowed multiple entries and no more than three models.

The IHS will use the prestigious State Hairdressing Awards to create networking opportunities, develop creativity and commend Australia’s industry talent. As it has for over half a century, the organisation will encourage ingenuity with categories ranging from editorial, to runway, bridal and commercial looks, where the diverse scope of styling on offer will expose the country’s most promising talent.
