Thinking about updating your salon’s look? Well now is the perfect time, with newly launched SPACE Salon Furniture offering design-savvy and customisable pieces to redecorate your space, writes Tam Allenby.
Opening its doors last month, SPACE aim to provide salons with unique and alternative pieces that will set them apart from other salons that might be fitted with more generic furniture.
Owner Phil Taylor has been in the industry for more than 17 years, and started as a hairdresser before moving into sales. His passion for hair, beauty and innovative design, combined with a keen entrepreneurial streak, led him to start his own business.
“To my knowledge we’re the only specialist salon furniture business offering this level of service here in Australia,” he shared. “You can take one of our salon chairs for example, select from a range of bases and up to 35 different colours and finishes to suit your specific salon or taste – we can even emboss your salons logo on to your chairs.”
“We also work with salons to fabricate ‘one off’ custom pieces such as colour bars and reception desks, that ship Australia wide,” he continued.
Based in Adelaide, SPACE also offer complete ‘end to end’ re-fittings for salons in South Australia that might be looking for a complete overhaul of their space.
Phil is also keen to point out that SPACE’s service is both stress-free and perhaps cheaper than salon owners might anticipate.
“We handle everything from start to finish, relieving salon owners of significant stress and usually saving them money along the way,” he said. “A lot of salon owners may think a new salon fit out or even an upgrade of salon furniture means a large capital outlay. We’re also able to offer financial solutions including an option to lease at a manageable weekly or monthly rate allowing salons to claim 100 per cent of the items back as a tax deduction. All our clients need is a vision that we can bring to life.”
Phil Taylor is also the owner of Hair & Beauty Collective, a new agent and distributor in South Australia and Northern Territory for a variety of prestige, artist-driven beauty brands, including Oribe, R+Co, V76 by Vaughn and Smith & Cult.
“On a personal level I’m extremely excited to be aligned with such an amazing collection of brands… each are class leading and uncompromising when it comes to quality, innovation and a commitment to the salon industry,” Phil said. “I’m confident salons will enjoy the diversity our brands offer.”
