From December 10 to 14, Just Cuts will operate the #Hearts4SANE campaign, where clients can give a cold coin or equivalent EFTPOS donation to purchase SANE Blue Hearts to sign and sit in salon, advocating for, funding and benefitting those affected with complex mental health issues.
The major franchise will continue to support the mental wellbeing of Australians by collecting these donations, in the hope of raising $20,000 to assist SANE’s support services. Salon clients can give $1 or $2 to help the cause and write a message to show their support, which will be placed on salon walls. Getting in the spirit, hairdressers will also wear blue to raise awareness of the cause.
“The pandemic is driving a spike in demand for mental health services, so Just Cuts salons and Stylists are once again stepping up to support our community and each other,” said Just Cuts CEO, Amber Manning. “While our Stylists across Australia are excited to start spreading some Christmas cheer, it’s important to remember this time of year can be incredibly hard for some.”
SANE Australia offers a national freecall line and online help centre with forums and live chat to support the 5 million Australians that are affected by complex mental health issues, which in turn impacts their families.
“With people impacted by complex mental health issues dying up to 30 years earlier, affordable access to quality support services that promote mental wellbeing is critical during Christmas time,” Amber said. “No one should suffer in silence when there are specialised services like SANE willing to listen.”
“2020 has undoubtedly been a challenging year for all Australians, but even more so for those of us affected by complex mental health issues,” added SANE Peer Ambassador, Dr Dov Degen. “Thank you Just Cuts for helping to raise funds for SANE.”
