The Parisian professional hair and beauty brand that prides itself on a holistic approach to the total look, La Biosthetique’s Beauty Stylist (International) Awards asks applicants to celebrate exactly that.
The wall was open to aspiring hair and makeup artists across Australia and New Zealand; a blank canvas that quickly filled with creative-cool submissions a colourful representation of the neighboring countries diversity throughout. From soft, editorial textural to fierce precision cuts and trend-driven tonal work, inspiration was endless.
Required to use La Biosthetique colour and makeup in a collection of four images, submissions were carefully judged by an all-star lineup of beauty experts – from industry veterans to blogger-sensations, all perspectives were catered for, providing a well-rounded panel for non-compromised results.
The panel consisted of Sharon Blain, Sandy Chong, Brett McKinnon, Cameron Pine, Justine Dunton Rose, Elle Ferguson and Ruth Browne – an elite circle who joined at the La Biosthetique Academy, Waterloo to deliberate and announce these top five finalists: Lib Marchese, Markese Hair VIC, Carla Thompson, H&B Hair and Beauty Christchurch, Todd Srndt, Vogue Nationale QLD, Daniel Grayswood, La Bimbi Salon Group ACT and Mandy Kingsman, Kingsman Hair NSW. Finally, a highly commended award went to Maria Byers of Styled at Goldilocks, NSW.
The national winner will be announced at La Biosthetique’s gala awards night, LA SOIREE in Sydney, September 11th, 2016. And ‘International’ isn’t a part of the awards title for no reason – the national winner will take flight to Paris in May 2017 where they will compete with fellow national victors within the brand’s birthplace.
The International winner of the Beauty Stylists Award will be announced at the international three-day celebration before a crowd of 1200 peers before coming to terms with their illustrious prize – a European tour alongside the La Biosthetique international creative team, directed by Alexander Dinter.
