The Pinnacle Foundation promotes education to help create a world where young members of the LGBTIQ+ community aren’t held back for being who they are. L’Oréal Australia has joined them in this crucial journey as a Gold corporate sponsor of the foundation, helping to promote diversity, inclusivity and visibility for the community and to the world.
In this new endeavour, the brand will provide a national multi-year scholarship for a young LGBTIQ+ Australian. The successful scholar will be able to use the funding over the next three years, to achieve educational or vocational qualifications in any profession, trade or the arts.
This partnership couldn’t be more timeous, not only celebrating Pride Month through June, but also responding to the added difficulties for the community, whether they be financial hardships, emotional separation and other hardships, that have been exacerbated by the pandemic. These familiar challenges for the LGBTIQ+ community can only be further worsened by the pandemic and, as such, the Pinnacle Foundation has relaxed the restrictions on how scholars may spend their funds to expressly cover any critical living expenses, knowing how essential these funds can be.
“We understand that the LGBTIQ+ community can be particularly vulnerable to isolation beyond what is experienced during this time, so with these exacerbated circumstances L’Oréal Australia wanted to ensure they could provide an ongoing commitment of support for an individual that may be experiencing particular hardship or vulnerability,” said Rodrigo Pizarro, Managing Director, L’Oréal Australia and New Zealand.
