L’Oreal Professionnel for Kookai

Who needs a plane ticket to Istanbul when Kookai can bring an exotic holiday to you?

The brand took to the runway last week to present their East Meets West Collection, and between boho braids and holiday glows, L’Oréal Professionnel and Napoleon Perdis gave the stage a poolside vibe.

“The hairstyle brief was very soft, glamorous, commercial waves,” explained Hair Director Jordan Hone. “There were two looks, one look was waves and the other was the same waves but with two braids that were parallel to the hair parting on the left hand side.”

The result was an asymmetrical take on bohemian chic, complementing a campaign lensed in Istanbul itself. L’Oréal Professionnel’s Tecni.Art Crystal Gloss and Wild Stylers Beach Waves were instrumental in achieving the hair looks.

The beauty look by Napoleon Perdis was focused on classic Kookai with an Eastern inspiration. “It’s like she’s been holidaying anywhere from Turkey to Vietnam, she has that holiday freshness in her skin,” said Napoleon Perdis Global Makeup Artist Kate Squires. “The tan is back, so the girls are nice and bronzed. This one is really golden so skin is nice and fresh and dewy.”

Peaches, caramels and golds were the hues chosen for cheeks, eyes and lips. The Loose Eye Dust in Honey and Sateen Eyes Sculpting Eye Powder acted as hero products.

Staple and statement pieces walked the runway in equal measures, from vibrant dresses to trendy playsuits and eye-catching swimwear.

They say change is as good as a holiday – turns out a tan, covetable beach waves and a printed bikini also do the job.
