Earlier this month, highly acclaimed up-do guru and renowned educator Lorna Evans acted as hair director alongside Tracey Scott and Sarah Conlon of Pivot Point Academy for the Whitehouse Institute of Design annual fashion show.
Held at the institute’s Melbourne campus, the two day event allowed up and coming Australian fashion designers to showcase their final collections.
The styling brief required Lorna and the team to create a high fashion look which was suitable for a number of design sectors, including evening wear, wearable art, lingerie and swimwear.

A whimsical, fishtail braided style was designed and recreated for the 32 models that appeared on the runway.
“Sectioning was our saviour when it came to this style,” explained Lorna. “The hair was teased using La Biosthetique Moulding Spray, before adding an ‘Amazing Hair’ weft to give our fishtail extra body and length. The style was then finished with lots of La Biosthetique Volume Powder.”
“These talented young designers show that the Australian fashion industry has so much to look forward to,” she said.
