Last year’s Matrix Playground series, held from auditoriums to basement bars, redefined education to give it a little more, very welcome edge – now, the series is back.
Kicking off its sophomore outing in Adelaide on Sunday Night and then moving on to Perth for the Monday, the instalment was shown to have all the flair of last year’s tour, focusing on the brand’s very creative Rock ‘N’ Strobe Spring Trend Collection. The show will now hit Brisbane on Sunday June 26, Sydney on Monday June 27 and Melbourne on Tuesday June 28.
Presented by the Matrix Design Team, this year’s lineup includes the brand’s Creative Director Uros Mikic, prolific colourist Steve Corthine, Lores Giglio, Paul Ricupito and Mat Johnson. Matrix Global Artist and acclaimed UK stylist, Jamie Stevens, will make special appearances at the three upcoming shows, showing off his wealth of experience that has seen him inducted into the UK Hairdresser Hall of Fame and work with celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, Elle Macpherson and Colin Farrell.
This series promises unique insights, with education from the latest collection teaching attendees how to simply decode five strobing techniques. The brand will also unveil the revolutionary Matrix Color Lounge app which will change the way hairdressers consult, learn and receive information and inspiration, providing salons and clients with a digital consultation experience.
Additionally, the series will pull focus to business with a Business Forum planned and set to discuss attracting clients to the salon and retail sales. Guest speakers will include GM of Matrix Australia Alishia Smart, Debarge Hair & Caffe’s Marie Ricupito, Mojca Bizjak-Mikic of Kinky, Curly, Straight, Paul Frasca from Sustainable Salons and Shortcuts’ Stephanie Heslop.
With business, creativity and innovation front of mind, hairdressing education is feeling more multi-faceted than ever.
