Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Begins Tomorrow

Tomorrow Kevin Murphy will enter familiar territory, heading backstage as Melbourne Spring Fashion Week’s Hair Director for the 12th consecutive year. The fashion festival will run from August 28 to September 4, forecasting the trends of the upcoming season and turning the city into a hair, fashion and cultural one stop shop.

Kevin Murphy

“It’s an honour to be a long-term partner of such an important event on Australia’s fashion calendar and each year MSFW gets better and better,” Kevin shared. “Spring fashion is certainly worthy of celebration – there is nothing better than the energy of a new season, for me it’s a great opportunity to push boundaries and showcase new trends.”

With Australian model Ashley Hart acting as the event ambassador for the second year, Kevin and his team of Session.Stylists will create hair looks to complement LIFEwithBIRD, Alice McCall, Ginger & Smart, Bul and Gorman and other Aussie designers.

The brand will also host the KEVIN.MURPHY pop-up shop at the MSFW: Hub, where stylists will dole out product advice, give free samples and discuss the latest hair looks. The pop-up shop will join other workshops, exhibitions, fashion films and cultural activities held throughout the city, making MSFW a must-see fashion destination.

Another event taking place within the MSFW: Curated banner is the Spring Summer 15: Hair Meets Fashion runway show, to be held at 12pm on Thursday September 3rd. Rokk Ebony and Rokk Man Barbers will style a list of Collins Place brands, including a men’s fashion parade and segment dedicated to spring racing fashion. Attendees will be treated to gifts from Rokk Ebony, KEVIN.MURPHY and the list of retailers.

Rokk Ebony editorial

“Rokk Ebony’s creative team designs new hairstyles for our clients every Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter after studiously researching up-and-coming fashion trends,” said Rokk Ebony Managing Director, Maurice Torcasio. “For the first time, we are launching the new collection with our Collins Place fashion neighbours in a big splash in the Melbourne CBD.”

It certainly sounds like Melbourne is pulling out all the stops – if you’re looking for your fashion fix, you know where to find it.
