As barbering becomes increasingly significant in the hair industry, education is key. Muk is capitalising on this with three Barber Sessions, conducted by James Howe and Justin Howley of Westons Barbershop.
Justin started barbering in Manchester before moving to Australia in 2008, since then he has worked in a traditional barbershop, honing his skill and expanding upon his signature British aesthetic. For his part, James also worked extensively in the UK with a role at Vidal Sassoon in London, during which he created their Men’s Luxe Collection and worked with the artistic team on the London School of Fashion Collections. After moving to Perth in 2010, he and Justin opened Westons in 2013. Their technical, business and artistic acumen make them worthy mentors to learn from.
The first session will take place on the 12th of October at 6pm, at the Oxford Hotel, Mt Hawthorn, Perth, in the form of a two hour look and learn. James and Justin will showcase traditional and contemporary barbering techniques, as well as showcasing elements of modern styling inspiration.
On the 13th of October the barbers will then take to their own salon in Northbridge for two must-attend sessions. Each three hour workshop offers practical training in trendy and core barbering techniques, such as blending, fading, precision cutting and more. Each class will be limited to just 7 attendees, making it a personal and worthwhile experience, where attendees will move from a mannequin head to creating their own model cut.
Weston Barbers and muk prove a formidable team – with this calibre of experience on offer, there’s no excuse not to be expanding your barbering repertoire.
