With the trend of the old-school barbershop not slowing down anytime soon, Mario Fallace and Tony Lucarelli are capturing the demand for groomed beards and slick men’s styles with their new Melbourne venture, New York Barbers.
Opening on Monday 25th February, Mario and Tony invited clientele and industry leaders to celebrate the opening of the vintage-inspired salon a modern yet barber-style feel. In true barbershop style, the event features American beer and New York style hot dogs on the menu, with men invited to experience firsthand a close shave.
This is Mario and Tony’s third salon with two Tamars Hairdressing salons already under their belts in Berwick and Bentleigh. The new salon is adorned with antique barber chairs and luxurions shaving brushes, and allows clients to indulge in a simple cut, an old-school shave, a shoe shine or even a Redken Camo Color treatment.
With the support of Redken 5th Avenue NYC and Redken For Men, Fallace hopes to see New York Barbers, Berwick just one of many New York Barbers franchises in the not too distant future.
“To have Redken backing me in this venture is like having a big brother looking over my shoulder,” said salon co-owner Mario Fallace. “The barber trend is international; it’s massive worldwide! The skill of the trade itself is diminishing but it’s something we wanted to bring back.”
“I’m so happy to support Mario and Tony in this exciting new salon. They have captured the New York Barber salon-feel down perfectly and it’s amazing to see such passion and drive for a skill that is gaining momentum within the industry,” Redken Marketing Manager Sandra Kelly.
New York Barbers is located at 11 Kempson Walk, Berwick, Victoria.
