Hair and fashion juggernauts united in an iconic show at Australian Fashion Week (AFW) 2025 when Bianca Spender teamed up with O&M, Shark Beauty and hair director John Pulitano of Headcase Hair to style the ‘Deliquesce’ Summer 25 Collection
“When I first saw the collection, I knew I wanted the hair direction to reflect it,” John shared. “The shapes in the fabrics, the beautiful movement and the way everything was so organically draped — it was exactly what I wanted to bring to life through the hair. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the collection was fluidity and freedom. I noticed how everything flowed so effortlessly, structured, yet unstructured.”
“Hair can be very meticulous,” he added. “Something that looks effortless actually takes a great deal of work and preparation. We used plenty of the O&M Frizzy Logic Shine Serum to achieve that wet-hair look, sealing it with the O&M W-Spray, which still allowed for movement and texture. We wanted to achieve that wet plunge look without it appearing slick or oily, creating beautiful, architectural waves through the hair.”
The O&M Paste and O&M Pomade also provided crucial texture and hold as hero products backstage.
The collection evoked the feeling of “plunging feet first into deep waters”, capturing the power of water to help you surrender to the current. Swooping drapery, asymmetric designs and wild silhouettes evoke this emotion.
“As someone who is deeply emotive, harnessing feeling is an abundant source of inspiration,” Bianca Spender, the fashion label’s titular Founder & Creative Director, said. “This season I felt compelled to tap into a sense of letting go. For me, this journey is represented through the sensation of plunging into water. I was imagining the weightlessness of the water rushing over and through me, the swell of the current pushing and pulling. Speckles of light penetrating through the waves and, ultimately, the ecstatic feeling of the ascent.”
Get the dewy fluidity hair look:
- Step one: Spray O&M Surf Bomb all over the hair, and blow dry in a directional motion to lock the product in.
- Step two: Apply a combination of O&M Pomade and Paste, starting at the roots and pulling through to the ends for control and definition.
- Step three: Sweep the hair back and use a comb, this will help enhance the strands of hair with grit and texture.
- Step four: Finish with O&M W-Spray to add moisture and enhance the wet look.
