It is with great regret that Rob Aubin, CEO of Pivot Point Academy Sydney has announced that the academy will cease taking new enrolments and will cease training on April 11th, 2014.
Due to the constant state of government funding changes for Certificate 4 and Diploma, changes in Training Packages and student visa programs and an exponential increase in red tape and compliance costs, the academy has become solely reliant on Apprenticeship training which is unsustainable.
“We have always been known for our quality approach to training, and we have sought to deliver that in NSW even without other funding sources, but with continuing uncertainty around the NSW Smart and Skilled reforms we have decided to direct our efforts back to our academy in Melbourne,” said Rob in a letter to Pivot Point students and salon owners.
“This decision has not been made lightly, and it saddens us that far more focus is placed on paperwork and compliance in education rather than quality outcomes. We also understand that it is disruptive to your business and to your staff who currently attend Pivot Point Academy.”
“We will be doing everything within our power between now and the 11th of April 2014 to complete students near the end of their training, or to make their transition to another provider as hassle free as possible. We will work openly and honestly to minimize the effects on your apprentices and your business in that time,” he said.
The Academy will be closed for the Christmas break between the 5th December and 6th January 2014.
