Roll ‘N’ Dice Barbershop, located in Perth, is built upon the ‘old school’ – old school barbering techniques, an old school Americana aesthetic and old school family values. The space is constantly updating, filled with vintage finds by owners Brett and Tania. Retro popcorn machines, electric guitars and records make up the eclectic space.
The barbershop fits five vintage barber chairs and three custom made pedal cars and planes for kids. Cuts, shaves and vintage hot towel services define the 50s barber style. For their originality and trend-setting ways Roll ‘N’ Dice were named Best Barber Business 2015 at the Australian Hair Industry Awards, a worthy award after 15 successful years in the industry.
“When clients visit Roll ‘N’ Dice, we want them to be able to sit, think and just be surrounded by things from yesteryear, and afterwards emerge slightly improved, with a great haircut, pampered from a hot towel, with the smell of Bay Rum aftershave,” Brett said. “For us it’s all about staying true to who we are and representing that, and always listening to our clients to give them what they want.”
Centred on the three tiers of their passion and love for the industry, an appreciation for hard work and their focus on education, through which they’ve trained many successful barbers and hairdressers to have confidence in their men’s styling skills, Roll ‘N’ Dice has earned its accolades. The only thing better than an old school rockabilly vibe is an old school work ethic, and this barbershop has both.
