It’s a frenetic weekend at Hair Expo, and some sessions, events or opportunities, no matter how tantalising, may slip through the cracks. The truth is, no matter how much you want to attend something, you can only be in so many places at once. However, there’s one event on the Sunday night of Hair Expo circled in bright red on our calendars. Let’s turn the spotlight on GenNext.
Presented by TONI&GUY, who will showcase their Socialized collection as the evening’s main act, hosted by Tabatha Coffey and Joey Scandizzo, sponsored by Wella Professionals and partnered by INSTYLE Magazine, the GenNext show beckons as a beacon of creative inspiration.
Socialized will set the pace, presenting a collection drawn from different cultures and diverse designers such as Giles, Marc Jacobs, Christopher Kane and Alexander Wang, and encapsulated in eight women’s cuts and colours and two men’s looks. Distressed textures and graphic shapes punctuate the daring collection as shown by members of the TONI&GUY International Artistic Team including International Artistic Director Indira Schauwecker, International Artistic and Educational Director for China and the Southern Hemisphere Bill Watson and Technical Artistic Director Siobhan Golden.
The other artistic acts making up the GenNext agenda include Heading Out Academy, the New Zealand industry team, Artists Independent, MENSPIRE, Zucci and the New Creative Force Showcase. In keeping with the joie de vivre of the entire expo, the event will have more of a festival vibe, with standing tickets around the catwalk available.
An inimitable opportunity for the emerging talents who present their looks on stage, GenNext is as much a shining prospect for them as it is for you. How often do you spend all evening watching hair shows that shine a light on our rising stars and push the boundaries of creativity?
