In order to keep up with their millennial students, Sydney TAFE is revolutionising the face of apprentice education, with boot camps, flexible training options and all-new app.
The education institution hosted a breakfast forum last week to show off these new initiatives, welcoming high-profile industry employers such as Wildlife, La Unica Salon, Legends Sydney, Valonz Haircutters, The Wright Salon, Saltoria Hair Glamour, Compose Hair, Hair Valley, SensoHair, Cure, Cut n Culture and the Australian Hairdressing Council to the event.
“We have already introduced new courses including Certificate III Barbering and an exciting Certificate IV Hairdressing course. The new Graduate Certificate in Creative Hairdressing Leadership starts in November and there will be many more making Sydney TAFE the most exciting place to learn hairdressing. Why would you go anywhere else?” said Head Teacher, Donna Colombini.
“TAFE has changed the way we do things and we can and want to meet each and every salons individual needs so that we can customise apprentice training to suit you,” she continued.
Salon guests enjoyed breakfast and updates on the changes to Apprentice training (a decidedly winning combination), while also leaving with a De Lorenzo gift bag. Guest speaker Elle Murray-Fowler from Wildlife also discussed how Sydney TAFE is responding to the training needs of their apprentices with these new changes in workplace training.
The future of education is now.
