Somehow – and we truly don’t know how – we’ve hit July, meaning the first 6 months of the year have already flown by. In the first half of 2017, lot’s of important things happened, but surely none more important than celebrity hair changes (well, at least for the purpose of this article) that we saw in droves and driving trends through the last few months. New colour, drastic crops and shaved heads all ran rampant over 2017, and male celebrities were not immune from this as well. Below you can view the biggest changes on celebrity culture’s most famous names creating the most viral trends of the year. Enjoy!

1. Bella Hadid

Not the first or the last to join the bob brigade, Bella unveiled a stylish short cut at 2017’s May Met Gala and propelled the trend further in doing so.

2. Cara Delevingne

Cara’s hair journey has been one of the more interesting ones to follow through the first half of the year, ultimately culminating in a shaved head (done for a movie role) that Cara has had plenty of fun with – see her Met Gala silver head look as an example. On the way, she boasted platinum locks and a playful short crop, before ultimately shaving her hair off altogether.

3. Aubrey Plaza

In the realm of colour, Aubrey’s role-based turn from her iconic black hair to deep red is a relevant, wearable and inspiring new look for the actress.

4. Katy Perry

Katy Perry is another celebrity who’s 2017 hair journey has been one to watch, transforming from black to peach to blonde and cutting her hair ever shorter, moving from long locks to a bob, then to a pixie cut before cutting her hair into an entirely short crop. If your clients are Katy fans, there are so many recent looks to choose from.

5. Kristen Stewart

After promising that she would one day shave off her hair, Kristen Stewart made good on that promise, debuting a blonde buzz cut for a role, and cementing short hair as the trend of the moment.

6. Frank Ocean

Drastic hair changes weren’t just for the girls, as Frank Ocean proved by showing off his recent change to pale pink. Merman hair continues to be a thing.

7. Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik is another guy experimenting with colour, having tried different hues before (including grey or ‘granny’ – now grandpa – hair), he went bright green in March.

8. Karlie Kloss

Another star showing the value in a good blunt bob and cool platinum hue, Karlie’s shorter, blonder hair at the Met Gala was a welcome and stylish change.
