Graphic shapes, dual tones and spelled out words – welcome to The Color Project by Paul Mitchell, the brand’s latest colour collection. Meant to showcase how colour can shape one’s character and provide a platform to express who you are, Paul Mitchell have left little to interpretation, even going so far as to spell out the word identity in colour on a model’s fringe.
Through an aesthetic described as ‘outside the box’, the collection explores themes of self-expression, and what increasingly creative colour choices mean to this generation. Purple and grey tones reflect current popular trends, while vibrant shades, geometric patterns and the aforementioned word painting take the collection in an even more artistic direction. The styling pairs these dynamic colour choices with a varied collection of cuts, from shorter crops to wild afros, long 70s style hair and perfect commercial curls.
Created by the brand’s editorial director Lucie Doughty, the editorial project is unusual whilst still remaining relevant, offering techniques and colour choices that will inspire you to be bold with colour.
