The Mask Academy in Parramatta held their annual Aspiring Stylist photographic finals on September 1st, awarding six stylists for their excellent interpretation of the theme of The Wild. Hair students pre-coloured the hair and completed the final styling at the Academy’s Parramatta studios, with makeup looks finished by the beauty students.

Students initially took part in a photography session in August, where they were given a set time to style models in the given theme and represent current fashion trends in colour and style. Judged by a panel of Mask Academy trainers and industry experts, the finalists then made it to the live awards night in order to claim top prize. Entrants were judged predominantly on the hair styling and colour, while the makeup, fashion styling and the contestants’ personal interpretation of the Wild theme were also considered.
