TONI&GUY veteran Katy Reeve has relinquished responsibilities at her Manly Salon, now focusing instead on a full time role as the brand’s National Creative Director.

Although Katy has fulfilled this role in conjunction with her salon ownership previously, this new sole focus showcases the brand’s commitment to education and creativity. The role includes managing the TONI&GUY Artistic Team, developing the TONI&GUY Academy educational offering, liaising with TONI&GUY International in relation to key launches and collaborating with The Australian Fashion Chamber.

“My role to date has really focused on implementation of activities, so I am really excited to be given the opportunity to shape the future of TONI&GUY education from the ground up,” Katy said. “A big focus for me is continuing to host more of our broader hairdressing community at the academy, to authenticate our pledge that TONI&GUY provides world-leading education for all hairdressers.”

Katy will report to TONI&GUY Australia CEO, and recent Hair Expo Hall of Fame Inductee, Dennis Langford. She will utilise her creative and technical talents, and strong commercial understanding, which she built up over eleven years as Co-Owner of TONI&GUY Manly.

“Hairdressers love to play in creative spaces, I do myself, but I also think it is important to maintain a strong commercial arm to education,” she confirmed. “As a salon owner I wanted my staff to feel excited about their craft and free to explore the artistry of hairdressing, but first I wanted them to be technically best in class. I always maintain the belief that you must be able to nail the foundation first.”
