Tracey Hughes Education Launches Scissor Range

In her efforts to educate the Australian hairdressing community, Tracey Hughes has debuted a line of scissors made to her exact cutting specifications under her education brand.

The new scissors range from Tracey Hughes Education

The Premium Elite and Superior Essential scissors are made with Japanese Premium Cobalt steel and Japanese Hitachi 44C steel respectively. The Premium Elite scissors utilises ergonomic handles and a Kubire blade, making it ideal for precision cuts. Both are available in five and a half inch for the left and right hand. The scissors are easily cleaned and built for longevity, suitable for both beginners and experienced stylists.

“After being asked for so many years what scissors I use and recommend, I chose to design my own brand of scissors,” Hughes explained. “My specifications were to produce a scissor of the highest quality at an affordable price. Most bespoke scissors on the market are simply too expensive for many hairdressers to purchase. I believe you can produce the results with just one pair of scissors if they are designed as an all-round scissor.”

Hughes can now add the line to a long list of achievements, which includes winning Educator of the Year three times, being awarded Excellence in Education four times and being an Honorary Inductee into the Australian Masters in an international career that has spanned decades. With experience in salons, editorial and runway work and a huge role in Australian styling education, Hughes is perfectly placed to fulfil the scissor needs of the modern Australian hairdresser.

“The Tracey Hughes Education scissors are perfect for precision cutting yet can also be used for freehand and finishing techniques. The look and feel of the design is quite unique and having two types makes them suitable for stylists of all levels,” Hughes said. “I love the performance of the scissor and it still makes me laugh every time I do a haircut and see my own name on my tools!”

Hughes will showcase the scissors at her MORPH seminar presented at this year’s Hair Expo with Sharon Blain.
