The UK Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence, or F.A.M.E Team, together with ghd, captured the London ‘It Girl’ in their recent shoot at London’s iconic King’s Road, writes Shannon Gaitz.

The shoot demonstrated the transformation of the unique ‘It Girl’s’ hair from night to the following day, evoking the classic party girl who could socialize into the early hours of the morning with hair that reflects attitude and individuality.

The UK F.A.M.E. team was only recently named at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Luncheon and Awards on the 3rd of December at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

The team consists of William Ackerley of Electric Hairdressing, Joshua Goldsworthy of Goldsworthy’s, Matthew Sutcliffe of Westrow and Jake Unger of HOB Salons.

The latest shoot is a platform for exposure and experience for the team under the mentorship of Art Director of the F.A.M.E. Team, Bruce Massfield, Art Director of the F.A.M.E. Team, Bruno Marc Giamattei, and Head of Creative at ghd UK, Andreas Stavrou.

“We worked together with the entire team to prepare; presenting mood boards and collectively deciding on the direction of the shoot,” said Andreas.

The Kings Road shoot was an evocation of creativity, built on a detailed approach to design through mood boards, brainstorming and the communal efforts of the whole team. They aimed to create a symbolic image – simultaneously dishevelled, poised and unique. “This shoot is all about transformation and creating a beautiful, natural look with an edgy vibe,” Giamattei confirmed.
