With inspiration hailing from the UK, Marlon Hawkins, Artistic Director at the world-famous Brooks & Brooks salon, London, created a collection centred on various dualities and aptly titled 2.
“2 is my second collection as Artistic Director for Brooks & Brooks,” Marlon said. “This year I wanted to explore the craft and creativity of hairdressing and how they meet. I was inspired to create a new perspective on hair imagery with silhouette and shape developed in to a collection of doubles where bodies and hair connect to create different emotive pictures.”
“The collection showcases multiple skills in the craft in colour, cut and style, with a fashion feeling and added layers of detail. ‘2’ stands for simplicity, beauty and creativity.”
The versatile collection shows off pops of vibrant hues, interesting hair knots and sculptural styles, wearable, editorial-style textures, unique hair patterns and techniques, nostalgic curls, clever, modern cuts and beyond – and all in complementary pairs.
Makeup by Jo Sugar, styling by Holly Bartley and photography by Jack Eames finished the collection with fine tailoring and against a muted backdrop, allowing the hair looks to shine.
