Visit Salon International 2016

We’re putting the call out for you to join the mass exodus of Australian hairdressers (at least for a few days in October) as hordes of our industry head to the UK for Salon International. The massive international event is taking place from October 15th to 17th and promises a host of new initiatives that make the trip to London even more enticing.

New owners (M Squared Media) are promising renewed initiatives and all-new areas, headlined by the HJ Men Stage, which focuses on the booming male industry. The stage will present live barbering and men’s hairdressing across the entire event. Big names such as Sam Burnett of Hare & Bone, Jonathan Andrew of Jamie Stevens and Chris Foster will take to the stage while demonstrations from barbering figures Andis and WAHL will also highlight the agenda.

“Among the favourites such as the HJ Stage, Salon Live and Salon Seminars, this year there are new aspects to our show: the hottest HJ Men Stage; the iconic HJ Legends Lounge; for the commercially dynamic, The Business Bubble, and for another hugely topical market, a Trichology Conference and Health Hair Village,” shared Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of Hairdressers Journal International, about the new features.

“We know that this Salon International will be the most incredible Salon International yet – the team is buzzing, the stage is set and the show will sparkle with glittering talent. We cannot wait to welcome you,” she continued.

Other main items at the expo include the British Hairdressing Awards Gallery sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional. Here visitors can witness the 98 collections in contention for the country’s major awards, particularly those competing for British Hairdresser of the Year, courtesy of Darren Ambrose, Errol Douglas, Mark Hayes, Gary Hooker & Michael Young, Akin Konizi, Mark Leeson, Angelo Seminara and Jamie Stevens.

Otherwise, a busy expo floor, new products, updated trends, competitions and other features are not to be missed.
