Always instrumental in unearthing the next big talent, nearly 90 innovative designers have been selected to exhibit their work. Once again, the bar has been raised year over year by the 114 designs on display. While futuristic new technologies like 3-D printing now have a place at the table, VIVID is seeing a resurgence of classic, handmade items and new approaches to traditional technique.

Interestingly, 2015 is all about texture, with bold colours taking a backseat in favor of offerings exploiting the tactile appeal of materiel like cork, concrete, ceramic, stone, augmented with a generous dose of matte finishes. Muted olive greens, greys, tans and leathers reinforce the organic trend.

Finalists are competing to win one of four Awards of Excellence in Design, slated to be given out on the first day of Décor + Design 2015. Prizes include converted media exposure, industry feedback, invaluable networking opportunities, prize money and education programs, all aimed to encourage participants to further their brilliant careers.

You may just find your next aesthetic muse. Take a look.
