Session queen Renya Xydis was backstage once again at Australian Fashion Week, crafting creative looks for SPEED that truly embodied Avant Garde hair fashion. For a collection titled Phantom Resort by Alvi Chung, presented off-site at The Plaza Hotel Sydney, Renya led the backstage team in her role as Wella Professionals Creative Director and ghd Creative Artist.

“Working on the Speed show with Alvi allows me and my creative direction to take on a whole new level of adventure,” Renya shared. “Layering Wella Professionals products and creating a couple of different looks we could push the limits of hair and embrace movement and texture in more ways than one.”

Both the hair direction and collection narrative centred on “shapes that defy gravity, textures that pulse with movement and elegance that resists containment”. Hair looks with volume and movement adding to natural hair walked the runway, with key hair accessories and handmade headpieces from material that matched the collection looks adorning the hair.

Hair tools such as the Wella Ultimate Repair Miracle Hair Rescue and Mistify Me Light Hairspray were essential in creating both the organic nature and structure of the looks. The brand’s Ultimate Smooth Miracle Oil Serum, EIMI Dry Me and EIMI Sculpt Force were also key.

Graphic eye and eyebrow beauty designs and nail art courtesy of OPI finished the artistic looks.
