Wella Professionals’ Australian and New Zealand contingent has announced a major new appointment, naming prolific Aussie colourist Marie Uva as its Creative Colour Director.
Marie has been an Australian Hair Fashion Awards Colourist of the Year finalist six consecutive times, and took home the award in 2009. She also prioritises education and business expertise alongside her creative endeavours, making her the ideal fit for the brand. Marie joins a team of Creative Directors already overflowing with talent, with names like Renya Xydis, Brad Lepper and Frank Apostolopoulos on the bill.
“We are thrilled to announce that Marie Uva is now our new Wella Colour Creative Director for ANZ,” said Jerome Toulza, Country Leader Wella Australia and New Zealand. “Marie’s work oozes talent and she has built her profile and career to inspiring heights. Together we will rejuvenate and elevate our colour vision to continue to inspire and lead the industry.”
Marie holds over 15 years of experience in the industry and is well known for her salon, UVA Salon, in Victoria. Her colour work is defined by innovative colour blends, and as such, she has amassed a strong following both within the hairdressing industry and with a celebrity clientele. Gigi Hadid, Nicole Warne, Lily Allen, Rebecca Judd, Nadia Bartel and Jennifer Hawkins have all employed her skills for their famous looks.
“Partnering with Wella for over 17 years, it is a great honour to be appointed the Wella Colour Creative Director for ANZ,” Marie shared. “I am excited for the opportunity to inspire colourists and share my knowledge and passion with my Wella family.”
